The Final Classifications

Yellow Jersey (General Classification)

Tadej Pogačar 🇸🇮 – UAE Team Emirates – XRG

Total time: 76:00:32
One of the most dominant GC wins in modern history. 4 stage wins. No weakness shown. Taking his Tour stage win tally to 21.

🟢 Green Jersey (Points Classification)

Jonathan Milan 🇮🇹 – Lidl – Trek

Bulldozed the sprints. Unstoppable once the speed picked up. Pure horsepower. Girmay didn’t show the power and speed of last year.

🔴 Polka Dot Jersey (Mountains Classification)

Tadej Pogačar 🇸🇮 – UAE Team Emirates – XRG

Conquered all the climbs. Took the jersey almost incidentally en route to yellow. With his strength in the mountains there was no rider that was more deserving. Martinez did put in a huge effort, even with a sticky bottle.

White Jersey (Best Young Rider)

Florian Lipowitz 🇩🇪 – Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe

Finished 3rd on GC. Germany has its next Grand Tour contender. Once Evenepoel let live became slightly easier in this competition. Oscar Onley put up a great challenge for white.

🏆 Team Classification

Visma | Lease a Bike 🇳🇱

Tactical consistency. Protected Vingegaard through thick and thin. A classy performance across all terrains. Did not always agree or understand their team tactics. Great to see Wout van Aardt get a second stage win on the Champs-Elysees to take his tally of tour stage wins to 10, however, it’s a pity they didn’t go all in for Vingegaard.

🔥 Super Combativity Award

Ben Healy 🇮🇪 – EF Education – EasyPost

Attacked mountains, flats, breakaways — a relentless animator of the race. Had all of Irelands Irish eyes smiling with his stint in yellow.

Lantern Rouge

Simone Consonni 🇮🇹 – Lidl – Trek

Finished last, +5h 51m 40s behind Pogačar. Worked tirelessly to assist Jonathan Milan in securing the green jersey competition.
A true survivor. The Lantern Rouge represents resilience, pain, and pride.
Named after the red light on the last carriage of a train.

DS Commentary – The Storylines That Defined TDF 2025

Tadej Pogačar delivered an all-time Tour performance. He held the yellow jersey for 13 days this year, the same as in 2021 but 5 fewer than his record setting 2024 tour. His rivals were strong — Vingegaard climbed better than ever, Lipowitz stunned everyone with his maturity, and Healy made fireworks — but none matched Tadej Pogačar versatility. Tornado Tadej reined SUPREME.

The final stage in Paris rewrote tradition with three climbs of Montmartre, cobbled switchbacks and slick wet tarmac — and Pogačar still raced. He didn’t ride into Paris — he stormed it.

It was good to watch some great racing with the Montmartre climb included. Pogačar showed that he was born to race — even with the yellow jersey secured, he was still prepared to race on the wet, slick cobbles of the final stage.

🎪 The Critérium Circuit – Reward After the War

While the GC has closed, the season rolls into the critiérium show circuit: post-Tour exhibition races across Belgium, Netherlands and France.

  • Winners like Pogačar, Milan, Lipowitz will earn high appearance fees.
  • Results are often pre-agreed — this is about celebration, not GC stress.
  • Many jersey winners negotiate spots for teammates in the invite list — ensuring domestiques earn a financial bonus too.
  • A quiet but noble way to say thank you to loyal helpers who suffered so their leaders could shine.

These races are full of fans, fun, and flashbulbs. The after-party for the peloton.

South African Legacy

No South African riders lined up this year, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t there in spirit. Daryl Impey and Robbie Hunter laid the tracks — now it’s up to us to rebuild the pipeline. Local talent exists. We just need pathways.

📻 DS Final Word

Born to race.” That’s what we said about Pogačar — and 2025 proved it true.

From the cobbles of Montmartre to the heights of the Alps, this Tour delivered panache, power, and poetry. Racing was aggressive, animated and human. The big names showed why they’re legends, and new faces proved the future is bright.

So from one Directeur Sportif to another — pack the bikes, praise the riders, pay the soigneurs, and raise a toast.
This Tour was special.
