🔍 DS Tactical Takeaways
1️⃣ UAE’s Climb Control
UAE set a perfect tempo into both ascents of Mûr-de-Bretagne. João Almeida’s crash inside the final 7 km didn’t rattle the team. Marc Soler and Juan Ayuso guided the train — textbook execution.
2️⃣ Pogačar Dominates the Finish
Two stage wins and now leads both the General and Points Classifications. Tadej Pogačar is showing signs of complete control. Smart racing, limited risk, maximum outcome.
3️⃣ Oscar Onley Proves His Class
The 21-year-old Brit continues to shine. Third on the day and firmly in the Top 10 overall. Calm, clinical, and climbing well — one to watch.
4️⃣ Jonas Vingegaard Still in the Fight
Vingegaard lacked Pogačar’s final kick but rode a controlled effort to limit losses. He sits fourth overall and is building momentum after a steady opening week. Expect more on longer climbs.
5️⃣ GC Re-Shuffle
Mathieu van der Poel drops out of yellow but remains in the top five. Evenepoel is steady at +0:54 and still in white. Vauquelin’s rise continues. The real test looms after Stage 9.
⚠️ Incidents & Withdrawals
João Almeida (UAE): Crashed inside 7 km but finished.
Jack Haig (Bahrain Victorious): Crashed in the same incident — abandoned Tour.
Time splits occurred in the final 2 km but were mostly neutralized by GC teams.
